2011 - 13 This series of paintings and drawings is inspired by the succession of images, ideas, emotions and sensations that occur involuntarily in my mind as I dream of a healthier world, searching for a retreat from the unpleasant realities through diversion or fantasy away from the harshness of human egotism. These female figures represent Eve in the garden, before malevolence had entered. She is portrayed as pure, innocent and untouched by the troubles of the world, she is at peace. She reminds me to appreciate the good and the beauty that surrounds us. The use of various plants blocking the rays of illumination are seen as intriguing shadows tracing patterns over the soft forms and assists in representing the vague, mysterious or prophetical effects that nature has on alleviating these stressors; she is feeling warm and free, like all the troubles have been lifted.
